How to Use the Signal App
Here's how to use the Signal messaging app for secure texting and calls:
Download and install the Signal app - You can get it for free from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store.

Invite contacts - Signal will search for contacts who also have the app and send invite texts to others. They will receive a link to install Signal.

Make voice and video calls - Tap the call icon at the top right of a contact chat. You can choose between voice call or video call. Calls also utilize end-to-end encryption.
Manage privacy - Within Settings you can choose whether Signal can access your contacts, photos and location. You can also set it to delete messages automatically.
Control notifications - From the app Settings, you can customize how and when you receive notifications for messages and calls.
Verify identities - You can verify contacts' identities by comparing a unique verification code shown within the app. This confirms you're messaging the intended person.
See read receipts - There is an option to toggle read receipts on or off. When on, the sender will see when the recipient has read their message.
Leave group chats - You can leave any Signal group chat by going to the group info and selecting "Leave Group."
